The first live football match in VR ! FC Porto-Benfica -This Sunday at 19.15
This sunday you will be able to watch the first VR football match ever, it’s an historic event !
You will be able to watch it with the Gear VR, it will be made with 5 camera with 360° view and you will be able to change the camera !
I don’t have Gear VR unfortunatly, but if some of you watch this match i would be happy to have your feed back on it !

Watched this live on Sunday. They offered 5 independent streams live to the headset. Users could choose where they viewed from, pitchside, stands, behind the goal etc. To change the view you had to leave the current view, go back to the menu and restablish the new stream. This wasn’t too bad as the buffer was very short.
All in all the experience was very good with the added bonus of sound really enhancing the feeling you were at the ground.
Limitation was the pixels density in the Note 4 display. Some of the motion was not great but you can’t expect HD as you’d watch on your home TV.
The 5 stream project very clearly demonstrated the clear potential for live VR streams for events. To have a choice of view was a real bonus.
The producers advise they may have a showreel available soon and it will be a good watch.

Now it’s getting more and more exciting as more and more events will come in VR 🙂
